Cisco EEM

Cisco EEM (Embedded Event Manager) provides a level of embedded systems management not previously seen in Cisco network devices. Cisco EEM supports more than 20 event detectors and automation facilities that are highly integrated with all parts of the Cisco IOS Software. Your business logic can be injected into network operations using EEM policies. These policies are programmed using either simple command-line interface (CLI) applets or using a scripting language called Tool Command Language (Tcl). Harnessing the significant intelligence within Cisco devices, Cisco EEM helps enable creative new business solutions, including automated troubleshooting, automated configuration management, fault detection, and device configuration.

EEM is available for the Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISRs), ISR G2, Catalyst 6500 Series Switches, Cisco 7200 Series Routers, Cisco 7300 Series Routers, Cisco 7600 Series Routers, and Cisco 10000 Series Routers; EEM is also available for the Catalyst 4500 Series Switches and the Catalyst 3700 Series Switches and the ASR-1000 Series Routers

IOS Software Compatibility

EEM is available in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2SX, 12.2SR, 12.2SB, 12.4, and 12.4T, 15.0M, 12.2SG, 12.2SE, Cisco IOS XE, and future versions. Cisco EEM function is also included in Cisco IOS XR and Cisco NX OS.
